John E. Reeves Cub World
John E. Reeves Cub World is a Cub Scout resident camp with 3-night and 6-night sessions available. Scouts and Leaders will stay in 2-person wall tents on elevated wooden or concrete platforms, and have shower and laundry facilities available on site. Our delicious meals are served family style in a 400 seat dining hall. Specialized theme facilities include a fort, land ship, and mine, which are decorated to fit the theme of summer camp. There is a huge variety of program opportunities which includes: nature study, tree identification, astronomy, geology, swim instruction, swimming, softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, fitness trail, field games, panning for gold, knot tying, handicrafts, campfires, camping skills, cooking, and pioneering. The Gary I. Laermer Activity Center has indoor climbing walls, miniature golf, bowling, basketball and volleyball courts and an indoor game area with foosball and table tennis.
The John E. Reeves Cub World Staff is excited to provide your Scouts and Leaders the best program and facilities available. For Cubs and their parents not able to attend with their unit, we offer the “My Son and I” program. Bring your personal gear and a great Scouting attitude! We'll provide the tents, food, program and fun!

Venture out on Safari with us this summer!
The 2018 John E Reeves Cub World will be exploring the African Savannah, the Rainforest, and might even run into a few dinos in Cubrassic Park as part of our Expedition: Discovery! theme. There are a number of new elements to this year's program, all of which can be found in this year's Leader and Parent Guide, which will be released on December 1st, 2017. We'll hit the highlights for you here. Some returning things that are sure to get you excited about camp are listed below:
This year, we'll be having two weekend activities designed specifically for those folks who can't make it out with their pack this summer. You'll have two opportunities, July 20-22, and August 3-5. The program holds all the same fun as Cub World, complete with tents, the dining hall, campfires, and advancement opportunities, but the programs are specifically designed for a parent participating with their child.
Due to the recent change in membership standards, girls who are registered as Cub Scouts will follow the same program as the boys. During this transition period, we will continue to offer the Sibling program, for youth (girls and boys) who are not registered. The Sibling program is open to youth ages 6-12. The fees are the same as for registered Cub Scouts, although on-time rechartering discounts do not apply, nor is there eligibility for Camperships.
The Pebble Patch
At John E Reeves Cub World in 2018, we’ll be offering a different kind of patch. Every Scout who attends camp will receive an octagonal patch like the one pictured in the Leader and Parent Guide. Then, during their stay at Cub World, additional pebble patches can be earned and purchased at the Trading Post for $0.75 each. Some special recognition pebbles must be earned and will be awarded at closing campfire to all Scouts who earned them. A velcro backing will also be available for purchase in the Trading Post for $3 to help you display your patch and pebbles proudly.
The Passport Book
Unless you're brand new to Cub Scouting, then you probably know that much of the advancement program has an emphasis on activities in the out of doors. Cub World wants to help your boys do as much as they can to advance, so every boy will receive a Passport Book upon entering that is tailored to their specific rank. As they travel from area to area, they'll earn different requirements, and our dedicated team of Explorers will check off their maps. Then, at the end of their journey, your son will be able to hand their Passport Book to their leaders to get them signed off and get a leg up toward their next rank.
