Spring BALOO Training
BALOO is a one day training event that introduces leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping.
Participants who complete this training course will:
- Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program
- Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout level overnight activity
- Learn more about the resources available from the Greater New York Councils and BSA for carrying out outdoor activities.
It is a requirement that at least one leader be BALOO trained on any Pack overnighter.
BALOO will be offered as a part of the Cub Activity Day at the Alpine Scout Camp May 7, 2016. The training will take 6 hours to complete and will run from 9 AM sharp to 3 PM, in the classroom at the Activity Center. The $10.00 fee will include coffee/tea in the morning, as well as lunch, which will be provided as a part of the training.
If your unit is attending Cub Activity Day, please be sure that there will be adequate adult supervision of your youth during your absence.
